On September 12, 2023, The American Chamber of Commerce’s Jeddah Chapter hosted the Women in Business Committee’s second Diwaniya of the year focusing on the topic "Opportunity Challenge - Creating and Supporting Successful Women in Leadership."

The event commenced with opening remarks by the committee chair Jamila El-Dajani, introducing the concept of Diwaniya for women and emphasizing their collective impact. Followed by Fatimah Martin from the US Consulate highlighted the historic moment in Saudi Arabia where women are at the forefront of regional collaboration and empowerment, and a facilitated dialogue by Nora Al-Jindi of Dar El Hekma University on fostering partnerships to bridge workforce gender gaps.

Diwaniya guests discussed the importance of mentorship programs, development of the younger generation and empowering them with the necessary leadership tools and shifting their mindset from passive to proactive, enabling women to take risks and embrace failure as part of their career growth.

The event was concluded by Dana Alajlani, the Women in Business Committee Co-Chair and Head of Public Affairs for the GCC at Sanofi, who highlighted innovation and transformation in the region in order to improve lives and she underlined the importance of our collective responsibility in shaping young leaders.

It was an enlightening event that encouraged us all to play an important part in creating more women leaders and supporting their journey towards success.
