Reno Domenico has been Senior Advisor to the leadership team at Science Technology for Development and Industrial Investment for the last seven years. Science Tech is the largest 100% local commercial player in the defense and security space in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the Science Tech family of enterprises has five fully functional independent manufacturing business that are focused on providing the Kingdom with the localization capabilities so needed in Saudi Arabia. Reno originally was attached to Science Tech’s office in Kyiv, Ukraine, and split time between Riyadh and Kyiv. Unfortunately, once the war broke out in Ukraine, Reno relocated permanently to Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Domenico has had a significant professional career in the states including working in government, education, politics, and business. While in Ukraine, Reno founded Sterling Business School in partnership with Rowan University, in Glassboro, New Jersey. In Ukraine, Sterling Business School focused on providing professional development opportunities for the burgeoning market economy following the fall of the Soviet Union. Sterling specialized on corporate level Lean Six Sigma training for western and local companies in the FSU, particularly in Ukraine, Russia, and Georgia, as well as Eastern and Western Europe. Consequently, Reno is working to bring the Science Tech organization up to Six Sigma level of quality performance.
Reno and Science Tech recognized the importance of the role of the AmCham Defense Committee and became quite active in the last several years with the Committee. Subsequently, earlier this year, Reno was named Program Director for the Committee. Mr. Domenico recently shared his vision for Amcham and the Defense Committee when he said:
“The AmCham Defense Committee offers American industry the unique opportunity to not only build upon the successful American – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia strategic partnership of the last 70 years, but to be able to renew, refocus, and advance that critical strategic relationship even stronger in the new Saudi Arabia. The key for the American defense community going forward is becoming not just participants in the development of the local Saudi industrial development, but by taking strong fraternal leadership in helping the Kingdom achieve its localization goals. The Defense Committee is ideally positioned to be the catalyst making the U.S. – Saudi friendship and partnership stronger than ever in the 21st century.”
Mr. Domenico is a graduate of the University of Miami, and did his graduate work at Rutgers University.
