Nizar Kammourie

Nizar Kammourie is the Chief Executive Officer of SAWACO Water Group, based in Jeddah, where he has built the organization from initial feasibility to becoming Saudi Arabia’s first licensed private water utility. With over 30 years of leadership in civil engineering, utility concessions, and environmental infrastructure, he served on the Board of Directors of Suido Kiko Middle East from 2006 to 2024, and holds a Board Directorship at Rabigh 3 Company (an ACWA Power joint venture operating a 600,000 m³/day independent water project). A regional leader in ESG and industrial decarbonization, he has pioneered AI-driven desalination energy optimization, shipment-level CO₂ emissions disclosure, and strategic sustainability partnerships with the Voluntary Carbon Market Company (VCM). Internationally, he sits on the Board of Directors for the International Desalination and Reuse Association (IDRA) and the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI). Nizar Kammourie serves on the advisory boards of Harvard Business Review, the Industry Leaders Council of Greentown Labs (2025–2026), and Economic Recovery & Resilience of the Institute of Sustainable Development (ISD). Within AmCham Saudi Arabia, Mr. Kammourie serves as a Jeddah Board Member, former Chair of the national ESG Committee, and a long-standing member of the Jeddah Chapter Board. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
