On December 1, 2025, AmCham Saudi Arabia Energy Committee, in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, hosted an exclusive breakfast briefing at Le Méridien Khobar Corniche. The event convened senior industry leaders and government officials to explore Saudi Arabia's energy transition strategy, with particular emphasis on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), a critical pillar of Vision 2030 and the Kingdom's net-zero ambitions.
David Edginton, AmCham Eastern Province Chapter President, delivered opening remarks, while James Sindle, U.S. Consul General, provided valuable perspectives on the importance of U.S.–Saudi collaboration.
The centerpiece of the gathering was the launch of a comprehensive white paper on CCUS in Saudi Arabia, developed by Mindsets as the Energy Committee's Knowledge Partner. Attendees received early access to strategic research underscoring CCUS's essential role in emissions reduction, industrial competitiveness, and energy security across key sectors, including oil & gas, petrochemicals, power generation, and heavy industry.
Distinguished experts from Baker Hughes, ExxonMobil, Air Products Qudra, and Lummus Technology shared valuable perspectives on technological innovation and decarbonization pathways. A panel discussion moderated by Mindsets facilitated meaningful dialogue on accelerating CCUS adoption, emphasizing the critical importance of cross-sector collaboration and resilient infrastructure development.
This event underscored CCUS's position as a cornerstone technology in Saudi Arabia's sustainable energy future. We extend our gratitude to all participants for their insightful contributions and robust engagement, and we look forward to supporting continued initiatives that advance the Kingdom's energy transformation.
