Ahmed Hafiz

Ahmed Hafiz is a Saudi energy executive with more than two decades of leadership at the intersection of industrial build-out, operational transformation, and US-Saudi commercial partnership.

He began his career as a field engineer at Schlumberger, constructing wells in the Saudi desert. Over the years that followed, he moved progressively toward larger and more complex challenges — from field engineer, Field Service manager, to recruiting and Operations manager. With GE-Baker Hughes he had the opportunity to serve in different roles across United States, Kuala Lumpur, and China, leading to his current position as COO of Novel Non-Metallic Solutions, the 50/50 joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Baker Hughes.

At Novel, Ahmed led the build-out of an entire organization from the ground up — seven core business functions, full operational readiness, delivered under budget, and recognized by Aramco as one of its fastest-ramping joint ventures. That experience — of building something durable where nothing existed before — is what he brings to the AmCham Energy Committee.

As the incoming Chairman for 2026–2028, Ahmed will lead the Committee's programming around the Energy Trilemma: Energy Security, Energy Equity, and Environmental Sustainability. His mandate is to position the Committee as the definitive platform connecting American technology, capital, and expertise to Saudi Arabia's most consequential energy program — Jafurah unconventional gas development, the Kingdom's renewables ambitions, and the refining and petrochemical expansion that is reshaping the Eastern Province.

Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, and executive certifications from MIT Sloan and the London School of Economics. He is a GCC BDI Certified Board Member, a Misk Vision 2030 Leader, and speaks English, Arabic, and Spanish.
